Step by step: How to Declare Goods in SOMSAD

Learn how to declare goods in SOMSAD while importing or exporting in Somalia. The first step - 'Creating an Account' is required only once. The rest of the steps are applicable to every export/ import consignment.

Step 1
Somali Single Administrative Document (SOMSAD)
- Go to SOMSAD website.
- Click ‘new user’.
- Enter information about you and your company as required.
- Remember User ID and Password.
- Account creation complete.
Step 2
Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI)
- The importer or their agent submits the following documents and information to the MoCI permit issuance office for internal processing:
  - i. MoCI export permit/certificate;
  - ii. Bill of Lading;
  - iii. Delivery Order;
  - iv. Weighing Report;
  - v. Company Profile;
  - vi. Application letter; and IDs and passports of the firm owners.
Step 3
Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI)
- MoCI officials verify the documents submitted.
- If the document are okay, then they are verified ready for upload into SOMSAD
- If the documents are not okay then they are not verified by MOCI.
Step 4
Somali Single Administrative Document (SOMSAD)
- Trader logs in to SOMSAD and uploads the verified documents.
